AJ McLean brings The Better Man Tour to Cargo

AJ McLean comes to Cargo Concert Hall on Wednesday, January 20, 2027, with The Better Man Tour. For fans who first heard him with the Backstreet Boys, the Reno date is a chance to spend a night with his solo work in focus.
Get to know Alexander James
The tour artwork introduces the show as “AJ McLean presents Alexander James,” putting his full name alongside the one fans already know. That same introduction runs through his 2026 album, my name is Alexander James. It gives longtime listeners a useful starting point before the Cargo date, and new listeners a way into the music beyond the group’s catalog.
Start with “Better Man,” then spend some time with the rest of the album. McLean’s official website also spotlights “Into Your Heart.” Following those releases before the show is a good way to hear what he is doing now, without turning a night out into a set-list guessing game.
Cargo’s current Reno artwork also features DJ Gab Wright and a performance by Matt Bloyd. Keep the show page handy for the latest event information as January gets closer.
Plan your Wednesday night
Doors open at 7 PM, with the show at 8 PM. This is an all-ages event, and the full bar is for guests 21 and over. Bring a valid, physical photo ID and check the ticket terms before you arrive.
Cargo is inside Whitney Peak Hotel at 255 N Virginia Street in downtown Reno. If you are making dinner part of the plan, leave time before heading into the room: Cargo does not permit re-entry. For accessible entry, seating arrangements or current parking information, contact the venue ahead of the show.
Bring the friend who knows every Backstreet Boys harmony, or the one who is discovering McLean’s solo music with you. January 20 is a good reason to put a Wednesday night downtown on the calendar.
